Just a quick message for my GCSE parents. Its getting close to the date of the first Maths exam, paper 1, and its natural to be anxious and feel nervous about how things will turn out. But please be mindful of the signals you will be putting out unintentionally to your teen. They can sense your stress, the anxiety your trying to hide in your voice and read the worry lines in your face . They will absorb your energy and take it on themselves. I know at times its hard to believe that our teens would be affected by our emotions so strongly, but deep down they are still our babies, and are instinctively looking to us for security and reassurance.
It's time to put on your best poker face and have faith in all the efforts we have together been putting in to ensure your child is in the best position to achieve their maximum potential. Nerves are a critical confidence killer. Lets be positive, motivated and hold our nerve as head towards the start of exam season. I am of course here as always to discuss any concerns, just reach out. Don't worry, we've got this!
